Jetting Salutes Our Armed Forces: JetBlue Offers $1 Fares During National Military Appreciation Month

Today through May 7, active military personnel can book travel to any domestic nonstop destination served from Richmond, VA or Washington, D.C./Dulles airports for travel in May

NEW YORK (May 5, 2009) - In honor of National Military Appreciation month, JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU) is proud to announce that active duty men and women of our United States armed forces currently serving in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard in and around our nation's capital are eligible to book $1 (a) fares on domestic flights from Richmond International Airport (RIC) or Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to any nonstop domestic destination for travel during the month of May. The airline is also pleased to pledge a $15,000 donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors.

To be eligible for JetBlue's $1 fares, travel must be booked and purchased by the service member by Thursday, May 7 (or while supplies last) for travel between May 8 and May 31, 2009 by calling 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583), option 4 to a book flight. Flights cannot be purchased online or at airport ticket counter. Retirees, reservists and military families are not eligible for this offer.

Nonstop destinations served by JetBlue from Richmond include: Boston, MA; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Orlando, FL; and New York/JFK. Nonstop destinations from Dulles include Boston, MA; L.A./Long Beach, CA; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Orlando, FL; New York/JFK; and Oakland, CA. 

Upon check-in, military travelers must present a current, valid Department of Defense Common Access Cards and official documentation at the JetBlue service counter verifying authorized leave from duty to show proof of active status. Travel booked with this offer is not eligible for Online Flight Check-in or at an airport kiosk. Failure to present these documents will void the reservation.

On JetBlue, the first-checked bag for all customers is free. For military personnel traveling with duffle bags and military orders for travel the airline provides an exemption from the overweight, oversized and 2nd and 3rd baggage fees.
