RIC CEO And President Announces Intent To Retire In 2019

Current CEO and president, Jon E. Mathiasen, AAE, who joined the Capital Region Airport Commission from Texas in 2000, has announced his intent to retire in August of 2019. The Commission confirms that it is forming a search committee to identify the next senior staff leader for Richmond International Airport (RIC).

Mr. Mathiasen has agreed to remain in his position until a new CEO is in place. During the selection process and transition, both the Commission and Mathiasen are committed to ensuring the Airport fulfills its responsibilities to the traveling public and the community.
