At the January 2025 monthly meeting, the Capital Region Airport Commission reported that Richmond International Airport (RIC) established new annual records for passenger traffic and cargo volume.
“2024 was an amazing, record-setting year for Richmond International Airport,” said Perry J. Miller, Ph.D., A.A.E., I.A.P., president and CEO of the Airport Commission. “We thank customers near and far for entrusting RIC to be a part of your flight plans and for flying new routes offered by RIC air carriers. Looking forward, with a record number of more nonstop destinations – now 37 – the sky’s the limit for 2025.”
4,884,093 passengers traveled through the Airport in 2024, an increase of 2.7% or more than 130,000 passengers over last year. On the cargo side, RIC air carriers reported 222,775,013 pounds of cargo volume, a year-over-year increase of 7.84 percent (approximately 16.2 million lbs.).
