RIC Conducting Seasonal Maintenance in Economy Lot B 

Section closures will occur on a phased schedule through March 

Richmond International Airport (RIC) will be performing maintenance in its Economy Parking Lot B that will require closing portions of the facility to complete the work. Travelers parking at the airport in the coming months may experience detours to other parking areas with available parking.  

On January 12, section closures in B Lot will begin and last 1-2 weeks each with the maintenance project concluding before the spring break travel rush.  

Work to be completed includes:  

• Crack sealing of the pavement  

• Bush and tree trimming/removal 

• Mulching/rocking islands and medians  

• Sweeping and general cleanup  

What should passengers do?  

• Be prepared to park in areas less familiar to you. For example, if Lot B reaches capacity you may be redirected to economy parking Lot A. 

• Be mindful of detours, closed parking areas, and work activity and equipment movement within the lot.  

• Allow additional time to park. If you typically arrive 90 minutes before departure, consider adding a few extra minutes.
