RIC Sets September Passenger Record

Richmond International Airport (RIC) reports that the September 2016 total passenger count set an all-time September record, as 301,895 total passengers used the airport, surpassing the previous record set in 2007 by more than 6,000 passengers. Versus the same period a year ago, passenger traffic increased 3.9 percent.

For the calendar year to date, RIC passenger traffic has increased 1.1 percent.

Total cargo (measured as the sum of freight and mail) increased 14.7 percent in September versus the period a year-ago. For the calendar year, cargo is up 12.4 percent. In addition, air carrier operations increased five percent in September compared to last year.
