RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond International Airport (RIC) proudly celebrates a decade of partnership with Allegiant, marking 10 years since the airline’s inaugural flight from RIC in 2015. Since launching nonstop service to Tampa/St. Pete, Allegiant has flown more than 721,000 passengers at RIC and has expanded its offerings to include Punta Gorda, Nashville, and Orlando/Sanford, providing travelers with convenient and affordable options to popular leisure destinations.
“Allegiant has been an important partner in expanding air travel options for the Richmond region,” said Perry J. Miller, Ph.D., AAE, IAP, President and CEO of the Capital Region Airport Commission. “Over the past decade, Allegiant has provided affordable, nonstop service to key destinations, helping to connect our community with family, friends, and vacation getaways. We are proud to celebrate this milestone and look forward to continued growth together.”
As a leisure-focused airline, Allegiant builds their schedule around vacation seasons, making air travel convenient and affordable. A key differentiator for Allegiant is that all of their flights are nonstop. When flying with Allegiant, passengers do not have to worry about the hassle of layovers and connections.
“We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with Richmond International Airport (RIC),” said Kristen Schilling Gonzales, Allegiant’s VP Planning & Revenue. “Our partnership with RIC has allowed us to connect countless passengers to the places they love most. This moment highlights what an incredible journey this has been, and we look forward to many more years of success.”
This anniversary highlights the strong partnership between Allegiant and Richmond International Airport. Allegiant’s business model focused on connecting passengers to premiere vacation destinations has aligned perfectly with RIC’s mission of providing convenient and efficient travel experiences to passengers.
